The Early Learning Coalition Boynton Beach team will be serving the community remotely on Tuesday, November 5th due to election activities in the building.
Our office hours will resume on Wednesday, November 6th.
If you are a child care provider that has a School Readiness contract with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County, you can be assigned to receive Training/Technical Assistance (TA) coaching support from a TA Specialist. Depending on your specific needs, providers and their programs can receive weekly or biweekly coaching sessions. For example, if your program scored less than a 4.0 on the most recent Class Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) assessment, you would receive 20 to 36 hours of coaching for 12 months. On the other hand, if your program scored above a 4.0, you would receive coaching support that is solely based on your needs.
Why does having a coach matter? Well, during interactions with teachers, strong relationships can be built with coaches, who can then offer extra layers of support and encouragement as everyone works toward accomplishing the goals of the child care program. Effective coaching also allows teachers and directors to better implement skills learned during professional development, as well as helping providers learn and implement new ideas. In the classroom, the coaching cycle consists of four components:
Coaches will also share with directors and teachers how the assessment process works, give tips on how to make the most of interactions in your classroom, behavior guidance, and how to interpret your CLASS Score Report. Furthermore, Coaches will give constructive feedback on areas in your classroom that could benefit from improvement or extra attention.
The good news is you can request coaching at anytime by visiting https://www.elcpalmbeach.org/requesting-support! Once the request is received and we’ve identified the type of support your program needs, one of our TA Specialists will be assigned to assist you. For more information about CLASS and how to access your score, please visit https://www.elcpalmbeach.org/class.
Remember, you are not alone! Our coaches are here for you and will work together with your ideas and goals to get a great CLASS score.
